On Monday, I had the privilege of attending the National Cyber Awards 2025, where I was honoured to receive the Cyber Awareness Award!

I’m humbled and delighted to win this award in my category - this award recognises individuals and organisations who are making a real impact in raising awareness, educating, and protecting people in our increasingly digital lives. For me, this is not just a professional milestone – it’s a reflection of the mission I’ve carried with me throughout my work: to help people understand the human side of technology and the ways in which our online experiences shape, challenge and sometimes harm us.

As a Human Behaviour Technologist and Online Harm Specialist, my work has always been rooted in one simple belief – technology is not separate from us, it is part of us. We live, learn, love, and struggle in digital spaces every day. By understanding how humans behave in these environments, we can better protect ourselves, our children, and our communities.

Winning this award is an acknowledgment not just of my efforts, but of the importance of conversations around cybertrauma, online harm, and digital resilience. It also shines a spotlight on the need for continued education, innovation, and compassion in this field.

I’d like to thank the National Cyber Awards for recognising this work, and also extend my gratitude to the clients, colleagues, and communities I’ve had the privilege to work with. Awareness is only the beginning – the real change happens when people take that knowledge and use it to build safer, more humane relationships with technology.

This award fuels my commitment to continue speaking, training, supporting, consulting, writing, teaching, and developing resources that make online harms and cyber awareness not just a specialist topic, but a mainstream conversation.

Together, we can create digital spaces where people are not only safe, but empowered.
